Annie was an absolute natural! Such a caring and comforting massage therapist. Listened to what I asked for, focused on those areas needing attention. More please!

ABOUT ME

I have always been interested in massage, even as a young child I would massage my mums shoulders, it was something that came naturally to me to be able to help people who were upset, in pain or just needed some TLC. But it was when travelling in Thailand that I really fell in love with massage and saw it as a way of life rather than a luxurious treat. Rows of massage therapists would line the streets and massage the aching feet of older women out shopping or huge rooms would be filled with people receiving massages as a weekly routine, a way to look after their bodies.

I felt so strongly that I signed up for a week long Thai Massage course in the Northern city of Chiang Mai, gaining a foundation level in Thai Massage. On returning to the UK and relocating to Bristol from Cornwall I decided I would study further and begin my career as a massage therapist. However as life has a way of making its own plans, 7 years, 2 children and 3 jobs later I am finally making that dream come true.

I undertook the Holistic Massage course at Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork, while juggling a 1 year old baby, a toddler and a job in marketing and although it was busiest year of my life, the regular massage I received, meditation work from the course and weekly yoga sessions helped me feel calmer and less stressed than normal.

During my time at BCMB I took part in a massage in pregnancy workshop and am currently completing the case studies and paperwork for my Pregnancy Massage diploma with Well Mother. I know first hand the difference massage can make both during pregnancy and throughout the different stages of labour and how beneficial it can be to calm the mind, aid with pain relief and help birthing partners feel more included in the process.

Insure your hands! My back feels so much better, more limber. Pressure was carefully and appropriately judged - very impressive!
